Welcome to Houston Singles Tennis Association

HSTA was formed over 20 years ago to provide Houston singles a comfortable and safe environment to meet and socialize with other single men and women who share an interest in tennis. It is a not-for-profit organization that offers the opportunity to participate in weekly mixers, tournaments, trips and other social activities. Becoming involved in the HSTA is a great way to expand your tennis and social network.
If you are single and enjoy playing intermediate-level mixed doubles, we invite you to participate with us as a guest. Should you later decide to join and qualify by HSTA by-laws to become a member, you will receive our Weekly News Brief, Quarterly Newsletter, enjoy discounted fees and have priority when reserving for club-sponsored activities. Please note the following rules for the admission of new members.
To qualify for membership, you must be over the age of 18, single, possess tennis skills equivalent to an NTRP rating of 3.5 or above and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Before applying for membership, you must play as a guest a minimum of three times within a six-month period.
After playing a minimum of three times, and you wish to apply for membership, notify the current President or VP-Membership. The Board of Directors will then consider your request at its next monthly meeting.
When you are accepted as a member, you will be asked to complete a membership form and pay an annual fee of $35 and after July 1 (half year) $15.
To continue as a member, you will be expected to maintain your tennis skills, abide by the rules of the club and pay yearly dues, which are currently $35. We would also encourage you to volunteer to help out with tennis and social events.
To make a tennis reservation to play on Sunday, call the HSTA reservation line at 713-867-3461 at your earliest convenience to assure a spot for you to play if you meet the above-mentioned qualifications. You will receive a call to confirm your play for Sunday from one of the Directors before the end of the week.
To cancel a reservation you have made, call the Director for that month or the reservation line if cancellation is before Friday.
We hope that you will enjoy the benefits of an association with HSTA and look forward to seeing you on the court soon!
